Course Description:

 

Course Duration 60Hours

The Pharmacy Technician Training Program is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in retail, hospital, or other pharmacy settings. This comprehensive course provides a strong foundation in pharmacy operations, drug classification, dosage calculations, inventory management, and pharmacy law and ethics.

Students will learn how to assist pharmacists in dispensing medications, processing prescriptions, managing inventory, and providing customer service in a pharmacy setting. The program combines classroom instruction with hands-on lab experience to ensure students gain both the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the field.

Introduces students to trusted drug reference tools (print and digital), databases, and guidelines for safe and informed drug usage.

Focuses on accurately interpreting, transcribing, and entering prescription and physician orders into pharmacy systems.

Reviews FDA regulations, HIPAA compliance, prescription labeling rules, and legal responsibilities of pharmacy staff.

Covers DEA drug scheduling, recordkeeping, inventory procedures, and legal handling of narcotics and other controlled substances.

Explores drug interactions, mechanisms of action, absorption, metabolism, and patient safety.

Examines therapeutic drug categories, indications, side effects, and commonly prescribed medications.
